These are the cats seized from Kay Kelly of Cafe Devon Cattery, they have been through more than any animal should have to, some have recovered without a problem, a few others will have lifelong affects.  Update.....All cats have been spayed or neutered and placed in new and loving homes, I have been told that Ms. Kelly is accusing the vet that saved these poor cats of stealing, however from what I understand from photos had they not been taken they would've all died.  When the vet arrived 5 were dead,1 badly decomposed, several more had to be put down as they were too far gone to recover, several queens had litters but only one kitten made it out alive, the remaining kittens were used for survival.  I've attached a few before and after pix below. At the time the before pix were taken these cats had been in vet care for over a month. I am forever grateful for the breeders and pet owners that stepped forward to take in these special needs cats and offer them loving homes.
Stolen or Rescued the fact is had the vet not removed these cats there is no doubt they would've all died, they all had upper respiratory infections, they all had lice which were transferred to the clinic employees, several had ringworm, the vet was not called to take care of these cats until they had been left alone for more than 2 weeks, cats receiving daily care do not need to resort to eating their young to survive, they do not lose so much weight they go into renal failure, and they are not so badly decomposed that they are unrecognizable.  This is a tragedy in all aspects. As for thousands of dollars being made these cats were sold for $150.00 - $300.00 which included the spay or neuter, vaccines, health certificate and rabies. A few were placed at no charge since they were in the most need, as with George there weren't homes lining up to adopt a 10yo cat in renal failure.

This is "Mini Pearl" the day I brought her home, at this point she had been in vet care for 30+ days, she had a litter of kittens that she was forced to use for survival, none made it out alive.

Number 1--Giorgio, now George, lives with me.  After living many years in a cage, George enjoys the freedom of the entire house and a raw diet has his health issues under control and he's up to a very healthy 11 pounds.  He is now neutered and living the good life.

Red male, about 10yo, his current name says it all, extremely affectionate, major biscuit maker, Number 1 however is in renal failure, when found he was a mere 2 1/2 pounds, he's now a healthy 8 pounds, he's lucky to be alive.
